~ About Me ~
This is me as a blonde, I have dark brown hair but I have always wanted to be a blonde. So, for this blog, I am a blonde <3 because it makes me happy! Creativity
I have a very creative side to myself including loving to sketch, & paint with many sorts of medium. I think the reason I am not satisfied for very long with any one thing is because of the creativity in me; just ask family member. They may tell you how many times I have changed the decor our home <3.
I have been known to stay up all night and move the furnishings to the point that if you were not aware of my habbit's... you might bump into something that was not there when you went to sleep that night. I am sure that this could be frustrating to most... but I have a family that not only loves me and lets me be me, but embraces my creativity and many times helped me in my endeavors <3.
Here is one example of the spontaneous nature within me. Once I get an idea of any sort into my mind I want to accomplish I will not stop until I am finished. I have been known to stay up all night quite often just to finish a large project, or even to the simplest of things, once I have started.
Oil Painting
Oil Painting being one of my latest hobbies...
(With all my hobbies, my favorite of all things is to study; it doesn't matter the subject except that I must love it. Saying that, I daily, Lord Willing, by far, love studying the Bible).
I love Oil Painting, I have always loved creating my own projects, making anything my canvas; but for oils recently I am enjoying the real canvas made for oils. Another medium I love using because it's so easy to work with and dries so fast, is Acrylics. Below is an example of one of my oil paintings
I started with Portraits, and ended up finding that my favorite is landscape with colors, many colors...
So, in a nut shell the thing about me you might be interested in knowing is that I first and foremost love my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ and His Word. Then everything else follows, first, I love my husband, children, grandchildren, family and church family. I love spending time with them. I can't get enough of my family. My favorite times are watching them now, as young adults, with my grandchildren underfoot, as they sit around our dining room table talking Conversing, laughing and remembering the good old days growing up with their cousins and our Sunday family dinners. <3.

My husband taught me the Jitter Bug, and I loved it so much we danced in our home all the time, and then as our daughters grew he taught them. Our family gatherings would many times even end up moving the furniture, then everyone there would go to town. Years ago, and even now at times, and especially holidays, the whole family, would get together, sisters brothers, Children, grandchildren, neices, nephews and parents, you name it they were there. That is when it more fun, as my dad would say, the more the merrier. We loved it.
The girls loved dancing the Jitterbug, so much, it became our family tradition. When they were preparing their weddings, one of the girls got the idea that it would be their Father/Daughter dance at their wedding, and the rest of the girls ( four ) followed suit. In fact it was such a surprise, everyone loved it... it was something we'd never seen done in place of the traditional slow father daughter music and dance.
My hobbies are mostly the arts, but a close runner up are my books, and reading. I would live in a library if I could because I love reading and studying so much.
I also love playing the piano, singing (but not in front of anyone... I prefer to be in the background). I'm OK around family now, but, in the past, I've been known to see a blank page when sitting down to play a piece on the piano, in front of anyone. One time, my mom asked me to sing with her at a church function with a small group of people. Well, that was my first and last experience in front of a crowd... I started to hyperventilate... literally. I slowly made my way behind my mom who was standing next to me, whispered in her ear that I had to sit down, and could not finish, and that is exactly what I did. That was my first and last experience of singing in front of a crowd, he he <3.
I love playing the piano & singing at home! :), because it is so relaxing for myself and also was a great tool in putting my children to sleep when they were younger. It was very therapeutic for me and still is <3.
My other interests are traveling, especially to the ocean, preferably to Maine where there are mountains where we can hike, climb mountains, and look over a beautiful landscape or ocean. I get a feeling when driving to Maine as we get to the bridge going over into the state; it's like I belong there and I'm going home... even though was not born there. There's just something about looking out onto the ocean with the beautiful rocky coastline that I just can't express in words and love so much. Of course, the seafood is great, too!
Other things I enjoy are writing, I like to walk, garden, arts, crafts, living in the Pine Barrens and the great outdoor. I am sure there are other things, just not coming to mind right now, because I love to do so many things.
One of the things I've recently enjoyed is teaching my grandchildren to play the piano and the arts. I get such joy from sharing with them and they enjoy it, too. Now when they visit, they love playing the piano and I love listening. It gives them a feeling of accomplishment and confirms in them that they can do what ever they put their minds to, a phrase my mom would say to me so often growing up. In fact, that is probably why now, I believe I can do anything I put my mind to, also :). My children love to sing also, and when we get together, I enjoy listening to them, too. For example, they recently sang a beautiful song to my father, "O Holy Night" at Christmas time... which brought tears to the eyes all around.
The only thing I think I haven't said is, I am also so interested in writing that I have several ideas rolling around in my head for a few books, longing to put into writing, Lord Willing,
And there you have it... all about me in My First Thoughts <3
