TAKE HEART, O WEARY TRAVELER
By Marie Sgro
Life is long and weary, many struggles every day,
Sadness may wrap around you, as you trod the pilgrim's way.
Take heart, O weary traveler, for the Lord will soon appear,
Your hope will be rewarded, and a Crown of Joy you'll wear.
The evil of this fallen world, surrounds you everywhere,
It judges you as foolish, for the Cross of Christ you bear.
Take heart, O weary traveler, for the Lord our Judge is near,
He bears a Crown of Righteousness, which upon your head you'll wear.
Temptation's snapping at your heels, as you strive to live The Way,
Constantly pursuing you, both in darkness and in day.
Take heart, O weary traveler, you've been proven through the strife,
Because you have endured and loved Him, you will wear the Crown of Life.
Our way is but a vapor, that quickly fades away,
And all your hands have made is perishing day by day.
Take heart, O weary traveler, for your life is not in vain,
Your losses counted in the world, the Chief Shepherd counts as gain.
You possess no fame or riches, though perhaps you desire you did,
But the greatest wealth lives in your heart, which the Savior there has hid.
Your crowns are kept in heaven, where the Lord one day you'll meet,
As you worship and adore Him, you will lay them at His feet.
Take heart, O weary traveler, for the Lord our God is true,
He's coming back in clouds of glory, and He's coming back for you!
Thank You, Marie
Again, Beautiful and Timely
Hugs, SZ
